Child Creations works diligently to ensure that students will have an appropriate and fun learning environment when attending the facility. Spiritual and educational resources are on display at eye level in all classrooms in order for students to be able access, touch and discover new ideas. Child Creations promotes learning by putting students' art and educational work on display in all classrooms. Teachers also promote learning by providing a "classroom helper" chart that allows the students to participate in helping the teacher do tasks throughout the day. The classroom helpers are rotated weekly.
Child Creations understands the developmental benchmarks of early childhood. In order for students to reach the appropriate benchmarks, Child Creations provides an excessive amount of developmentally appropriate toys and equipment for students to explore with in each classroom. Students are provided with the appropriate toys according to their stage of development and age in each classroom. The toys are organized into particular centers that the students will choose to participate in. Each center concentrates on one aspect of learning.
Child Creations understands the importance of allowing children to express themselves through arts and crafts. This center allows children to do just that. Art materials are provided according to age and developmental stages. Toddlers are provided with construction paper, markers, crayons, chalk, and tissue paper so that they can create their own artistic picture. Older children are provided with construction paper, three-D collage materials, pencils, crayons, markers, safety scissors and glue. This center helps enhance creativity and fine motor skills.
In this center, children are provided with various types of blocks that are made with different types of textures. Children practice building and stacking blocks which helps to enhance fine motor skills. Play accessories are also provided in this center. Accessories consist of farm animals, houses, cars, and people.
The cozy center provides children a place to relax and take a break. The cozy center is placed in a quiet space in each classroom to provide children a chance to relax and take a break. Accessories in this center include pillows, bean bags, and stuffed animals.
The fine motor center concentrates directly on a child's fine motor skills. The toys in this center consist of developmentally appropriate puzzles, lacing and threading beads, blocks that interlock such as Legos and toys that help children learn how to zip, buckle snap, and button particular items.
This center consists of dramatic play. Dramatic play offers children a time to pretend and express their observations of adults and their everyday lives. This center is provided with a kitchen set along with food accessories, baby dolls and clothes and a table and chairs. This center helps enhance emotional and social skills.
In each classroom at Child Creations, students are provided with numerous amounts of books that contain educational facts about different cultures, disabilities, animals, literacy, math, and Biblical stories. The staff understands the importance of reading to children and letting them explore different types of books. The books in each classroom are chosen based on the age and stages of development that the students are in. Teachers also refer to the local library to provide students with more of a variety. Books are rotated monthly and tend to collaborate with the theme of the week or month.
This center allows children to discover nature and start developing mathematical and scientific logic and reasoning. This center enhances mathematical logic by providing different types of shapes, counting toys with numbers, and mathematical games, puzzles and books. This center also enhances scientific logic by providing living things that the children can look at and learn about, magnifying glasses to explore different rocks, shells and other objects, and scientific books and pictures.
This center allows children to discover sounds through music. Children will explore sound through listening, dancing, singing and playing the various instruments provided. The music center provides children with different types of instruments such as the cymbals, maracas, small pianos, bells, and small drums. The accessories in this center include instruments, scarves, and musical pictures
The sand and water center tends to focus on children discovering and exploring new textures. Teachers rotate water and sand monthly to enhance learning. Children may practice filling and dumping in this center. Accessories include funnels, buckets, sponges, shovels and bubbles. Teachers may include items that pertain to the theme that they are discussing as well.
Child Creations understands the importance of providing a modern facility for students. Child Creations maintains updated appliances, light fixtures, fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, security systems, technology, and a current curriculum that helps meet the students' needs. Computer programs and software are updated yearly to better enhance students' learning. The environment is updated on demand in order to meet the students' needs.
