Pre-K

4-5 years

Our Pre-K Class serves children ages 4 to 5 years and provides a well-rounded learning experience designed to bridge the gap between pre-k and elementary school. We strive to equip our students with the skills they need to succeed.

Instruction is led by a certified teacher with a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education and Biblical Theology, ensuring that children receive high-quality instruction grounded in both academics and Christian values.

The Pre-K curriculum focuses on essential kindergarten-readiness skills, including letter recognition and sounds, phonics, sight words, early reading and comprehension, rhyming, handwriting, and problem-solving. Students begin reading simple words and sentences while developing confidence in early literacy.

Advanced mathematical concepts are introduced using age-appropriate instruction aligned with Knox County kindergarten standards, helping children build a strong foundation in number sense, reasoning, and critical thinking.

Spiritual development is woven throughout the curriculum through Bible stories, verses, songs, and classroom discussions. Learning takes place through a variety of instructional methods, including hands-on activities, concrete examples, large and small group instruction, and purposeful play.

Our Pre-K curriculum is reviewed and updated regularly to remain aligned with Knox County Public Schools curriculum and standards, ensuring students are well-prepared for a successful transition to kindergarten.
