Originally, Child Creations was founded in 1989 and was advertised by the name of Kids Korner. The center was then sold in 2009 and began operating as a Christian center under the name of Child Creations. Child Creations was then purchased in 2013 by current owner Debbie Snyder with ministry in mind.
Debbie Snyder taught in Knox county schools for over 25 years. She taught kindergarten for 15 years then moved to first grade where she taught for eight years, and finally retired after teaching second grade for two years. Debbie retired to move her teaching career in the direction of children's ministry. Her passion for teaching children about Jesus was hindered by the public school systems. Debbie purchased Child Creations in January 2013 to teach children about Jesus and implement their educational knowledge within the curriculum. She saw the importance of children's ministry and educational preparation in her experience as a teacher in public schools.
Children's ministry is deeply rooted within family of Debbie Snyder through the past generations of the Neubert family. Debbie's grandparents, Otis and Joanna Neubert ministered to children and adults by traveling around the United States to sing and preach the gospel of Jesus. Their legacy as ministers of Jesus had a strong influence upon Debbie and her two daughters' passion for ministry. Debbie's daughters are currently working at the center. Joanna Parsons graduated from Johnson University with a Bachelor's degree in Children's Ministry and Biblical theology. She assists Debbie Snyder in directing the center. Leah Heidel graduated from Johnson University with her Bachelor's degree in early childhood education and Biblical theology and teaches pre-k at Child Creations. Children's ministry has been deeply rooted within the generations of the family.
In January of 2013, Child Creations had 20 students in attendance. Debbie and her family worked diligently at updating the building, equipment and logo within the first year of ownership. The family created the slogan "Creating Kids For Christ" to explain the ultimate goal of the ministry. In January 2019, Child Creations completed their building addition and is now operating with 99 students in attendance.
