Child Creations has been serving families with faith and purpose for generations. Originally founded in 1989 as Kids Korner, the center became a Christian-based program known as Child Creations in 2009. In 2013, Debbie Snyder purchased the center with a vision to create a place where children could learn about Jesus while growing academically, socially, and spiritually.
Before entering ministry, Debbie spent over 25 years teaching in Knox County Schools—15 years in kindergarten, eight in first grade, and two in second grade. Although she cherished her time in public education, her passion for sharing the love of Christ led her to pursue children’s ministry. Purchasing Child Creations allowed her to combine her teaching experience with her faith, creating an environment where education and ministry work hand in hand.
Children’s ministry runs deep in Debbie’s family. Her grandparents, Otis and Joanna Neubert, traveled across the country singing and preaching the gospel of Jesus. Today, that legacy continues through Debbie and her two daughters. Joanna Parsons, Assistant Director, holds a degree in Children’s Ministry and Biblical Theology from Johnson University, while Leah Heidel, Pre-K teacher, holds a degree in Early Childhood Education and Biblical Theology, also from Johnson University.
When Debbie and her family first took ownership in 2013, only 20 students were enrolled. With dedication and prayer, they refreshed the facility, updated its equipment, and introduced the slogan “Creating Kids for Christ.” In 2019, the center completed a building expansion and now serves nearly 100 children—continuing to provide a loving, Christ-centered foundation for every child who enters its doors.
